Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Training Instructor, you will plan, resource, and deliver world-class technical training on Anduril's autonomous air vehicles, enabled by a deep understanding of our products and each customer's unique demands. You will serve as subject matter expert on Anduril's growing AV product offerings, including a cornerstone program of Anduril's Air Dominance and Strike Division.
This is primarily an instructor role , and we are looking for someone who comes from military aviation maintenance. You will spend most of your time leading technical instruction, in the classroom and hands-on at the aircraft, for USAF maintainers and operators who will expect you to have done the job yourself. You are also a core member of the training development team: embedded closely enough with the content to edit it, manage it, flag updates as the aircraft changes, and support validation testing alongside our instructional designers and curriculum developers.
Expect to learn the air vehicle the way the maintainers do. Early on, and recurring as the aircraft changes, you will work alongside and shadow our maintenance team on the flight line to build and keep first-hand knowledge of the systems you teach.
Our customer is moving to a Mission Ready Airman model, in which an Airman is certified on the aircraft regardless of their Air Force Specialty Code rather than staying inside a single specialty. You will be expected to model that yourself: working knowledge across all air vehicle systems, spanning both the Tech and Mech sides of the course, rather than depth in a single specialty. That is a real shift from a traditional specialty-aligned maintenance career, and it is central to how we teach.
You will help drive adoption of our products by understanding user workflows, surfacing pain points, and feeding what you learn in the classroom back into the curriculum. If you are passionate about teaching ground-breaking technology, contributing to the national security mission, and working alongside professionals across a wide range of disciplines, Anduril is interested in speaking with you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Deliver training
Lead classroom presentations and hands-on instruction on site at customer locations, Anduril test sites, and government air bases
Instruct across both cognitive and procedural training: systems knowledge in the classroom, task performance at the aircraft
Educate end users from military, government agency, and commercial backgrounds on Anduril's hardware and software offerings
Orchestrate the expeditionary delivery of training on Anduril products
Learn and stay current on the air vehicle
Work alongside and shadow Anduril maintainers on the flight line to build first-hand working knowledge of the AV and its systems
Maintain that currency as the aircraft, software, and technical data change, rather than teaching from a fixed snapshot
Build the working relationships with the maintenance and test teams that let you get an authoritative answer quickly when a student asks something the courseware does not cover
Develop and hold working knowledge across all air vehicle systems , spanning both the Tech disciplines (avionics and mission systems, electrical and environmental, armament and weapons) and the Mech disciplines (airframe and structures, propulsion and fuel), so you can instruct a cross-AFSC audience under the Mission Ready Airman model
Support and maintain the curriculum
Work side by side with instructional designers and curriculum developers to shape and refine training content, bringing the instructor's perspective to how it is built
Perform basic editing and content management on existing courseware
Flag required updates as hardware, software, and technical data change, and keep instruction current with them
Support validation testing of new and revised courseware before it reaches students
Work with engineers, program managers, and subject matter experts to convert product capabilities and tasks, techniques, and procedures into learning objectives with matching course content
Serve as the voice of our customers
Build a bridge between end users and Anduril, capturing feedback and identifying pain points from the classroom and the flight line
Inform the development of new product features and drive change in the curriculum based on what you observe students struggle with
Collaborate across Anduril
Work across product development, engineering, design, and operations to capture product updates and support training of end users
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior instructor experience delivering technical training , including hands-on instruction on aircraft or complex equipment. Military instructor duty or a formal instructor certification strongly preferred.
Extensive military aviation maintenance experience. You have worked the flight line in a uniformed maintenance role on fighter, UAV, or comparable military aircraft, and you know how USAF maintenance is actually organized, documented, and supervised.
Direct maintenance experience with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), fighter type aircraft, or advanced aviation equipment
Working knowledge of military technical data and maintenance documentation practices (technical orders, work packages, forms, and the discipline around following them)
Willingness and demonstrated ability to work outside your own AFSC or specialty. Our customer certifies Airmen on the aircraft regardless of specialty code under the Mission Ready Airman model, and we expect our instructor to model it. You will teach across both the Tech and Mech disciplines:
Tech: Avionics & Mission Systems, Electrical & Environmental, Armament & Weapons
Mech: Airframe & Structures, Propulsion & Fuel
Depth in one of these is expected; a credible working knowledge of all of them is the job. Candidates who have only ever worked a single specialty should expect a steep ramp.
Training background with expertise in planning, developing, and delivering training
Understanding and proven application of ADDIE, adult learning theories, and instructional design for training program development in a technical field
Adaptive, creative communication style that fits a variety of audiences and works across a variety of mediums
Ability to work in cross-functional environments and influence others with no hierarchical relationship
Ownership mentality with strong initiative in managing your own work, and possibly that of others. You should have a natural bias to assume responsibility.
Enthusiastic about transforming US and allied military capabilities with advanced technology
Familiarity with United States Air Force training, maintenance, and safety protocols
Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top-Secret security clearance
Location: T his role is on site with the aircraft and the maintainers it supports at Creech AFB . Costa Mesa (HQ) can work for the right candidate, but expect sustained time at the training sites rather than at a corporate office, since the aircraft and the maintainers are there.
