Canine Handler Security Officer

Organization: SHSO-Sutter Health System Office-Bay Position Overview: Ensures the safety and security of patients, guests, employees, and property by enforcing policies and procedures in a professional and courteous manner. This role includes general security duties and specialized canine handling responsibilities. Job Description : EDUCATION: HS-High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: DL - Valid Driver’s License if required to operate Sutter Health vehicles PSO - Proprietary Private Security Officer CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute certification K-9 Training within 90 days of hire TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 5 years of experience in Security, Law Enforcement, or Military 3 years of experience as a certified K-9 handler SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Proficiency in computer and Windows-based applications for data entry and information retrieval. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Technical knowledge of canine behavior, handling techniques, and emergency first aid for canines. Ability to recognize and differentiate between canine and zoonotic diseases communicable to humans. Knowledge of Adam’s Law and Megan’s Law. Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain composure in stressful situations. Basic knowledge of criminal and civil laws and investigative procedures. Pay Range is $53.65 to $80.48 / hour The posted pay range is based on the position's primary work location. Candidates who reside and work outside of that location may be subject to a different pay range based on their work location.
